About

Quick Facts!

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Sun/Rising/Moon: Virgo/Pisces/Scorpio (thank you co-star for this valuable information)

Favorite Food: Ceviche (specifically my mom’s ceviche YUM)

Can’t Get You Out Of My Head: “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush, the original but also this haunting cover by Cécile McLorin Salvant (listen to it right now you’re welcome)

Inheritance: From my mom - a love of spice/heat (even when it’s too much for me to handle), the need to blast salsa when cleaning, and the burning desire to forge a life on my own terms. From my dad - a midwestern compulsion to get out of everyone’s way, the intellectual curiosity to learn just a little bit about everything there is, and the desire to craft a life around doing what you love.

A Bit More…

I like stories. As a kid, I would spend hours spilling out the colorful guts of my imagination into spy games, princess performances, and tales of talking dogs or kids with magical powers.

At a young age, I was enrolled in a variety of different performing arts classes. My mom thought it would help me overcome my shyness. It worked. Acting has since been an essential part of my life, helping me to find my voice and continually inspiring me to be brave enough to use it.

I left my home-state of New Jersey at eighteen to pursue an undergraduate education at the University of Chicago, and graduated with a double bachelor's degree in Theater and Performance Studies (Honors) and Comparative Literature. Post-graduation, I spent a year in Chicago learning from and working with some incredible theater artists, technicians, and educators at the American Theater Company and Lookingglass Theatre. My desire to pursue further acting training led me abroad to the U.K., where I graduated with an MA in Professional Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (BOVTS) in Bristol, England.

Circling back to my East Coast roots, I am currently living and working in New York City.

Press

“All the performances (in The Shylock and The Shakespeareans) are well-tuned to the portrayed characters, with some especially noteworthy… Litchfield gives a strong comedic performance as Nerissa giving the character a lightness of expression that borders on slapstick without going overboard. Her comic timing and comedic physicality fit perfectly with the character.” - Scotty Bennett, Theater Scene

“The women particularly shine (in The Shylock and The Shakespeareans), with… Stephanie Litchfield as Nerissa, Portia’s maid, giving Nerissa a little bit of class consciousness along with some bawdiness.” - Gwen Orel, New York Irish Arts
